‘Hike #3: Circuit of South Mountain’ is from the ‘Catskill Mountain House Trail Guide’ by Robert Gildersleeve.

This hike is approx 1.5 miles one way (round trip is 3 miles maybe more depending on how well you explore Giant Ledge).

The Hotel Kaaterskill is great moderate hike and the start of the trail is located just outside the entrance of the North South Lake Campgrounds.

The starting point was the parking area near North Lake for the former site of the Catskill Mountain House.

Vroman’s Nose Trail is located in the town of Fulton, New York and is a terrific short hike offering a vast landscape view of the valley below.
