After a long hiatus, I returned to Kaaterskill Falls. I can not believe it was that long between visits.
I was very impressed with Plattekill Falls strong water flow just days before and thought about how Kaaterskill Falls water flow would be. From the very start of Kaaterskill Trail judging by Bastion Falls I knew the water flow was going to be great.
When my father and I reached the Kaaterskill Falls parking area a bit later in the day I was so pleasantly surprised to see only 1 other car in the lot. As we got our things together another car pulled into the parking area. Still only 3 cars (including us)- in less than a month this area will be packed with cars as summer fast approaches.
As we hiked into Kaaterskill Falls my father and I stopped a few times to take photos. During this time several people passed us as they themselves were heading to Kaaterskill Falls.
It was a quick hike to Kaaterskill Falls and the trail was in great condition. As seen in my recent photos the water flow at Kaaterskill Falls is strong and very impressive.
