History
The Ulster and Delaware Railroad Company (U&D) was a railroad located in New York State and founded in 1866. It was often advertised as “The Only All-Rail Route To the Catskill Mountains.” At its greatest extent, the U&D ran from Kingston Point, on the Hudson River, through the heart of the Catskill Mountains to its western terminus at Oneonta, passing through four counties (Ulster, Delaware, Schoharie and Otsego), with branches to Kaaterskill and Hunter in Greene County. CatskillSearch and the Ulster and Delaware Railroad
Photographing the last remaining remnants of the Ulster and Delaware Railroad has been an ongoing project by CatskillSearch and hopefully many more postings will come in the future. Generally most of Ulster and Delaware Railroad visits by CatskillSearch have been done in the locations that are in the northern part of Catskills. Below is a small photo gallery detailing CatskillSearch photography on the Ulster and Delaware Railroad. More photography can be found on the main menu navigation bar found on the top of each page that states “Railroads”.

Ulster and Delaware Railroad Stations and Track Right of Way (ROW)
The links below details the current remnants of the Ulster and Delaware Railroad that can be located throughout the Catskills on the U&D right of way (ROW). Currently some of the Ulster and Delaware Railroad original ROW is used for a railroad. These two railroads are the Delaware and Ulster Railroad and Catskill Mountain Railroad. Both are generally used by passengers and by the railroads for scenic purposes. Hurricane Irene caused a lot of destruction in the Catskills including and both railroads have made tremendous efforts to repair their lines.
